To Do List Part 2: You need a Due Date

Alright, the papers I have sitting everywhere are now all put on the separate To Do lists that I wrote about in my last blog.

Now the next big step is making sure we have due dates or time-lines to get the tasks done. Why do we need a To Do list with dates/times for each task? For many reasons, including the fact that if there is no deadline or set time we will do the task....it will never get done.

I don't know about you but after looking through all my loose papers I have realized how many things just live on my To Do lists. They have been things that I need to and would like to do for so long. So why are they still on my list? Because they do NOT have due dates.

Since we have separated our lists into: Today, This Week, This Month, Next 3 Months, etc etc, we are giving ourselves a due date to follow. So take your Today list for example. If you have 5 things on your list, jot down when you need to get those tasks done. This can be an exact time or a deadline to help you stick to getting it done.

Alright, I'm off to sleep which is the next thing on my To Do list tonight.

Next we learn how to make our To Do lists doable.

Make Your Wildest Dreams Come True...

Do you talk about your dreams, ambitions and goals with your other half?  I think that many of us feel like once we are in a serious relationship or have a family we can no longer reach new goals in our lives.  Well, I don't agree.  Once you have found a partner for your life journey, you also have someone to share your goals and dreams with.

Jason and I regularly take the time to share our life goals.  We talk about what we see for our future individually and as a couple.  We have also found that seeing those goals written down or in pictures constantly help us to achieve them or move towards them.

I think it is amazing to really SEE your goals every single day.  When you wake up in the morning take a look at that vision board.  This is how you can create your own vision board.

How to make a Vision Board:
1- Think about the goals you would like to achieve in life
2- Find a cork board, a poster board or use Photoshop to create it digitally.
3- Find pictures and quotes that help you visualize that goal and stick them on your board
4- Place your vision board somewhere that you will see it daily or frequently to remember the direction you are moving in your life

Dream big and then move towards those dreams! Enjoy and happy vision board making!
