Help I'm choking!

Tonight as I had a minor choking fit on a tiny piece of cucumber and freaked out my husband, I realized how important it is for us to know CPR. I realized that we really don't know much about what to do in emergency situations!

As a personal trainer I am forced to keep my CPR up to date but what if that wasn't the case? Do you know what to do in the case of an emergency? Do you know how to react?

The more I think about it the more I realize that the best thing we can do for our families is to be prepared! Take the time to go to your local YMCA or pool and get CPR certified! Its easy but could save your life or your loved ones life!

You can also check out more CPR facts with the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Take care and be safe!

Use that Phone!

As many of you know there are two devises that I always have with me, my Blackberry and IPod Touch! This is not a review or a comparison of different devises just an info blog about what they are good for besides calling. I have the two devises because my Blackberry is like my personal assistant and my IPod Touch is my laptop, I have over 70 apps on my IPod Touch and maybe 3 songs.. Personally I can't have it all on one devise but that's me.

People have to learn that their phone is their best friend and should be used as such. Not only is it an amazing communication devise with phone calls, voice mail, texting or emailing but can be used to keep your appointments and ToDo lists. In many cases these higher tech phones have specific apps to help you in your everyday life.

As our lives get busier, it gets harder to remember all the things we needs to do...both for work and personal. A cell phone can help you stay on track!

Summer Time Place

Hi everyone...Summer is definitely here and I want to talk about what people like to do and go in the summer. Montreal is full of beautiful parks, streets and waterfront but where is it that we find our own little sanctuary in the city.

I love the Old Port, finding different parks along the water and of course can't beat Downtown...

There are so many places and with having to work during the summer, any free time becomes even more valuable. You want to spend time with friends, family or even on your own. So where do you go? What do you like to do?

Wake up, wake up, wake up!!!

This morning I jumped out of bed and into the shower in such a panic! I had somehow fallen back asleep after my 4th alarm went off! Yes I know it sounds ridiculous but I have a backup to my alarm and then 2 others in case. For some reason this morning I thought it would be a great idea to get back in bed and cuddle up to my husband for a bit longer....

Great idea... until I feel back into a deep sleep with no 5th alarm backup!!! So in my panic, I got up, jumped in the shower and out the door! I somehow made it to work on-time but talk about stress!!

Am I the only nut that has 4 alarms and still manages to sleep in? What do I do? How do I beat the temptation to cuddle up for a few more minutes? Should I create a 5th alarm?

Help!

Can Your Marriage Take The Heat?

This is definitely a heat wave!!!! Hot hot hot days and sticky nights. I love it but as I lie here in my 31℃ bedroom with my husband fixing the fan and filling our glasses of water with fresh ice, I can't help but wonder how relationships last through extreme heat!

If you can last a few days in extreme heat with no air conditioning that your relationship has definitely passed the test of all tests!! Jason and I do not have air conditioning in our home yet so we are living in a sauna. I actually don't mind it at this point. A cold shower to start the day, a swim in my in-laws pool to end the day and then an evening in the sauna.

What are your tricks to beat the heat and keep your marriage working?

Stay cool...

Amazing is the Word!

Tonight I went to a fabulous show with my mom to celebrate her 60th birthday! (She still looks 30!) I stole her away from my family after dinner so we could see a show...

We went to see Mom's The Word 2: Unhinged which is part of the Just for Laughs Festival this year. It was a fabulous show! A must must MUST see for everyone! We can all relate to this one of a kind show...mothers, daughters, sons, husbands and everything in-between! It was a realistic non-stop journey through the truths of motherhood, with all the emotional ups and downs we live every single day. Not to mention a dash of song, dance and nudity?!

I absolutely loved every moment of it and I really really urge you to go see it. This is the best show I have seen in a long time!
The show runs from now until July 18th at the Centaur Theatre so buy your tickets while you still can.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!!

Youth in a Bottle?

My hubby Jason is a huge fan of Olive Oil! He uses it in all of his cooking and now I use it in so many more things as well! I was trying to find out what other things Olive Oil was good for and came accross this Dr.Oz video. One of the most important points he makes is that by having olive oil you are reducing your mortality rate by 50%! Wow pretty impressive! Check out the video and start using olive oil in your cooking...hair..and maybe even to shave??
