Every Penny Counts!

Money Money Money!!!! It is a part of our lives whether we like it or not and whether we have it or not! The question is how can we make more, find more, save more? I have the perfect solution....

I got my husband a coin counting jar as a funny gift. Little did I know that without very much effort we would have $150 in no time! Yes when you add all your pennies and change up, it actually counts!!!

My advice for the night is start counting your pennies.... you may be on your way to Mexico with the money you find sitting around!

I'm off to put some change in our little jar...

Shoes Shoes Shoes!!!

Hey followers! I gotta apologize for having fallen off the planet for the last 2 weeks. I do miss sharing and caring with you all so I'm BACK!

I wanna talk to you guys about my most recent dilemma. So I had 4 shoes with me at the cash register and decided I can only leave with 2 (the ones ON SALE) so that my loving husband doesn't flip out (not that he would - better be safe than sorry) when he sees that I got 4 pairs of shoes in one outing.

I'm not one of these girls who have to buy a pair of shoes every time she goes to the mall, but I do know that for some of my newly wed friends this specific issue causes some tension at la house!

For some people, shoes make or break an outfit so the pairs start to pile up! I gotta be careful, the only pairs of shoes I can buy that fit me properly are the shoes at Nine West and those can get expensive. Nine West is the only place where they have many of my perfect little Cinderella size 5 1 /2. The shoes last me a good while and even with my heavy walking the heals dont give up on me too quickly! Gotta say I'm a big fan of Nine West!

I couldn't keep walking around in my winter /spring boots! I had to get a few new pairs. Right? What's your shoe collection like? Or better yet, for you men out there, tell me how you feel about your ladies collection.
Do you all agree with Forest Gump? Can you tell a lot about a person just by their shoes?
How many is too many?

A few weeks ago I mentioned Super women and how to organize our time as married working couple and possible kids in the future. So I'll get back to that as soon as I can figure it out what the married truth is about how to pull it all off!

Money Money Money Money

One of the most frequent subjects that comes up between Jason and I is money!  No matter what life stage you are in, I'm sure you can relate to the relevance of MONEY in your life.  Jason and I have been working hard to become and stay debt free.  We are also learning how to keep monthly budgets which means that we have to shop smart!

Today I want to share a great tool with you for shopping.  It is the 'Sweet Deal' blog!  Solmaz keeps you up to date on great shopping bargains.  Some of her recent entries include, Epiderma Laser Hair Removal, discounts at GAP, Banana Republic, Old Navy, McDonalds and much more.

She has great techniques for when you go shopping and wanna catch a deal and also keeps her eye out for deals that you can benefit from just by going to her website!

Check out the 'Sweet Deal' blog for tips on how to save money while still going shopping!

When it comes to money... yours is mine and mine is yours?

Today I decided it was about time to reorganize our financial papers....for the third time in the last 4 months!!  When it comes to bank accounts, credit cards, investments, insurance and mortgage when in a relationship do you combine everything?  Should you combine bank accounts when you are dating?  Engaged?  Married?  Or should it always stay separate?

Right now Jason and I have everything seperate so things can get a little mixed up.  We both have different banking institutions and different ways to organize our accounts.  That being said... we have no idea what is the best way to go about this.

I have taken some great advice from my advisers Mike and Greg... but I get constant advice from Gail Vaz-Oxlade, host of 'Til Debt Do us Part and author of Debt Free Forever.  Jason and I tape her shows all the time and really take the tips and advice she gives seriously.  She tells you how to live within your means and be debt free!

Now that we have a new financial filing system set up... I'll keep you posted on the status as we go along.
